Start
the Process Now! It's really simple and we'll run you through it
|
Stage 1: Personal and Professional Information and Application Fee
Stage 1 includes all steps of the application that must be completed before you schedule a phone interview with the Career Israel staff. We will not be able to notify you as to your acceptance to the program until after the interview, so we suggest that you make every effort to complete stage 1 in its entirety without delay. It is possible to complete part of the application, and then return to it at a later date. However the Career Israel staff will not be able to begin processing your application until stage 1 is complete. You will be able to see if you have completed stage 1 at any time on your My Career dashboard which can be seen by logging on. In order to initiate the process you must first register.

Stage 2: Interview and Acceptance
After completing stage 1, you will be able to schedule a phone interview with the Career Israel staff. The interview allows us to get to know you and learn more about your needs and requests. The interview is also an opportunity for us to tell you more about the program, and answer any questions that you may have. The interview can be scheduled on-line at a time that is convenient for you, and our staff will call you at the number that you request. Following the phone interview, you will receive e-mail notification as to your acceptance to the program. In certain cases, we may refer you to a local representative for a face-to-face interview as well.

Stage 3: Confirmation Deposit and the Internship Placement Process
After you have been accepted to the program, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable confirmation deposit of $300. This payment is part of the program cost, and indicates to us that you are committed to the program. It is very important that you be committed to participate in the program before we start to contact placements about your candidacy. After you have paid the non-refundable confirmation deposit of $300, you will be assigned an Internship Placement coordinator from the Career Israel staff. The Placement coordinator will be in touch with you regarding specific companies that may be of interest to you. You will be able to see your coordinator's contact information as well as information about the companies/organizations that he/she has suggested to you on your 'My Career' page. The placement process is a dialogue between you and your coordinator, and there is generally a lot of “back and forth” between us as we discuss options and define appropriate expectations for your internship experience. Once you have expressed interest in a specific placement, your coordinator will send your resume to the relevant organization. If the organization is interested in your candidacy, you will be asked to set up a phone interview with the point person at the organization. Many participants ask to have interviews in more than one organization. Since the point people are professionals at the organizations, they do not have a lot of time to dedicate to interviewing interns, and therefore it is not possible to interview at more than one organization at a time.

Stage 4- Internship Confirmation
After the phone interview with the point person at the organization, we will let you know whether or not they have accepted you, and ask if you are interested in confirming the placement. If you are, you will see on your 'My Career' page that your placement is confirmed. ** Please note: Although we make every effort to confirm your placement before you arrive in Israel, we do require you to meet face-to-face with your employer upon your arrival in Israel (during the orientation section of the program). The face-to-face meeting is very important for both you and your employer, and your placement is finalized only after the meeting. If for some reason your placement falls through after the meeting, your placement coordinator will work with you during the orientation section of the program to find an alternative placement. ** Please note: Career Israel does not take responsibility for changes that occur within the organizations and affect the internship placements. However if a change occurs within the organization where you have been placed that prevents you from working there, our staff will work with you to find an alternate placement.
